The initiative “Kids Run for Kids“ was founded in 2003 by Änne Jacobs. It sees itself as not only a fundraising platform for charity, but also as an interface between federal and state ministries of education and culture, schools/clubs, non-governmental organisations, sponsors and partners.

The aim is to link up the topics “social commitment” and “health”. The motto is “get moving and get things moving” as schools become more socially committed whilst having fun doing sports and enjoying healthy food.

The initiative “Kids Run for Kids” is financed by sponsors. All the school’s donations are transferred directly to the SOS Children*s Villages by the schools.

After you have told the school/club that you would like to receive a donation receipt and made your donation, the school should contact the initiative “Kids Run for Kids”. The initiative then informs the charity SOS Children’s Villages about your request. Then the receipt is sent directly to you. SOS Children’s Villages however do need your full address and the donation has to be paid into their bank account.

Aid organisations are checked by the tax authorities to make sure the money is used properly according to the organisation’s articles of association.
Large well-known organisations are checked by certified accountants.
The DZI awards SOS Children’s Villages their seal of approval, which means that the methods of fundraising are honest and respectable and the deployment of funds is in accordance with what the organisation’s statutes.
